In the front page of the album it reads "To Dearest Mother With Fond Love From Will Sept 1917...Wishing her many Happy Returns of the Day".
The album is a selection of photographs taken by Will, during his time in England, whilst waiting to return to Australia after World War One. Will was injured in the war and located in a war hospital, he consequently lived and worked with his West Australian friends, while waiting for a safe passage home. The album was a birthday gift for his mother located in Perth, Western Australia.
Left photograph: A photograph of the 16 Lancaster Road, Dollis Hill, UK home including in the back grounds at the steps of the home is Margaret Hill (front left), Bill Hobson (front right), the rest of the people in the photograph are unknown. William (Bill) Hobson lived at the Dollis Hill home with Bert Hill. Both William and Bert were most probably billeted to this accomodation. They were unable to travel home to Australia until the First World War finished.
Right photograph: The photograph is taken of 16 Lancaster Road Dollis Hill London, Uk where William (Bill) Hobson and Bert Hill lived. The image depicts Bert Hill (left) and his fiancé Margaret Hill (right) at the front gate of their Dollis Hill home. William (Bill) Hobson lived at the Dollis Hill home with Bert Hill.
