SWIMMING
SECONDARY SCHOOLS’ CHAMPIONSHIP
The annual race for the above championship was held at the Fremantle Sea Baths
yesterday afternoon over a course of 100 yards. The contestants were McNeil, (Scotch College), Mather, (Guildford Grammar School), Davy, (High School). Maitland, (H.S.). Boor, (Christian Brothers’ College) Hewby, (Scotch College) Kilfoyle (C.B.C.) and Burns (G.G.S.)
McNeil, who came through the field hand over hand won easily in fast time. A great struggle ensued for the second place Hewby defeating Burns by a touch. The others finished in the following order: Mather 4th; Kilfoyle 5th; Maitland 6th; Boor 7th, Davy 8th.
